You may be wondering
Sometimes yes, if the existing surface is sound, flat and well bonded. It is a solution that keeps dust and disruption to a minimum. But it is not always the right option. We check the condition of the floor on site and we tell you honestly whether it is better to tile over the top or to remove the old tiles and start from a perfect base.
Laying large-format tiles calls for more preparation, a very flat surface and real skill to handle big slabs without breakage. So the labour is a little more demanding. In return, you get fewer grout lines, easier upkeep and a high-end finish. We set it all out clearly in the quote, with no surprises.
It depends on the adhesive and grout used, but you should generally allow a few days before normal use of the room. We always tell you the curing times to respect and we organise the work so this wait disrupts your daily routine as little as possible.
